Federal Labor Panel Revives Trump-Era Fight Over Judges Union

The Republican majority on the Federal Labor Relations Authority doubled down on a Trump-era effort to quash the federal immigration judges union despite the Biden administration’s recent move to recognize the labor group.

The labor panel on Friday denied the union’s appeal of a Trump-era finding that immigration judges are managers and therefore aren’t entitled to union rights. The move is unusual given that the Biden-run Department of Justice, which oversees the immigration court system, already recognized the union late last year, effectively ending the dispute.
