A federal district judge has nullified a local Teamsters election at the Biden administration’s request, saying that the union failed to ensure members’ votes were kept secret.
US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Judge Matthew Schelp cited “undisputed evidence” that the November 2020 election for Teamsters Local 688 was conducted recklessly and in violation of federal law. Voters “marked their ballots on each other’s backs, on the tailgate of trucks, on their hands while walking to the ballot box, while sitting at tables with other voters, and in plain view of officials or other voters,” Schelp said ...
