FCA $600,000 COBRA Class Deal Gets Final Nod, Service Awards Cut

FCA US LLC and former workers alleging it sent deficient and “ominous” notices informing ex-employees they could stay on the company health plan got final approval for a $600,000 class settlement after the lead plaintiffs’ incentive awards were slashed, according to a federal court in Michigan.

Gabriel Green and Valerie Hall-Green alleged the automaker violated the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, the federal law requiring companies with 20 or more employees to allow workers to continue their health coverage after they’ve been terminated.
