Farmers Insurance Exchange agreed to pay $5.4 million to resolve overtime claims brought by nearly 80 investigators under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law, according to a motion seeking court approval of the deal.
The class and collective members would split about $3.6 million, the plaintiffs said Wednesday. Individual payments will range from $1,200 to $156,000, depending on payroll data, and nearly 20 members will receive more than $70,000.
Lead plaintiffs David Deluca and Barry Francis would both receive $10,000 service awards, and the 26 individuals who were deposed would get an additional $1,000 each.
