A federal judge approved a $45 million agreement settling claims by a group of women nationwide that Family Dollar Stores Inc. paid them less than their male co-workers for doing the same work.
The March 14 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina brings an end to a “pattern-practice pay discrimination” class action that began in 2008, when 49 female store managers sued the variety chain store operator.
