Facebook Sued for Favoring Visa Holders in Hiring Decisions

A Pennsylvania technical consultant is suing Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, for favoring job applicants holding temporary work visas over their American counterparts so they can pay visa holders less money for the same work.

Plaintiff Purushothaman Rajaram alleges in the lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California at San Francisco that he was twice passed over for positions at Meta because of the discriminatory hiring practices.
