A Catholic ExxonMobil Oil Corp. worker is alleging in Texas federal court he experienced religious discrimination after the company refused to accommodate his work as an ordained deacon by letting him remain on day shifts.
Texas worker Max Silva argues in a Tuesday complaint filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas that following his ordainment in February 2025, ExxonMobil moved him out of his day-shift training position back into a refinery position requiring evening and weekend work that interfered with his deacon duties.
