Exxon Mobil Freed From Drug Test Termination Dispute

Exxon Mobil Corp. was dismissed from a lawsuit by a pipefitter who was fired after he tested positive for marijuana during a random drug test.

Even though Emile Tilson Jr. worked at Exxon’s plant in Baton Rouge, La., he was actually employed by Turner Industries Group, he said in his March 2017 complaint. Tilson claims the drug test was a false positive and the result was wrongfully distributed to databases used by employers in the petrochemical industry.
