Ex-Tesla Worker Must Pay Company’s Costs Defending Bias Claims

A former Tesla Inc. employee who unsuccessfully sued the company alleging racial discrimination is still on the hook for the automaker’s litigation and arbitration costs, a federal court ruled.

Naymon Frank’s motion to vacate a more than $11,000 arbitration award was denied Wednesday by Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong of the US District Court for the Central District of California. Frank failed to establish misconduct by the arbitrator in limiting who could be called in as a witness, including CEO Elon Musk.
