Ex-Securitas Employee With Mentally Ill Child Advances Bias Suit

Securitas Security Services USA Inc. must face a former employee’s claim that she was fired for her association with her six-year-old daughter, who has a mental health disability, a Philadelphia federal judge ruled.

Jessica Mulhern worked as a front desk concierge at a condominium building for roughly a month, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said. Three weeks into her tenure, she told her manager that she needed to miss work to attend to her daughter’s “decompensating mental health,” the court said.
