NYU Grossman School of Medicine was hit with a lawsuit from an ex-worker alleging she was pushed out for complaining about the discrimination she faced for being Jewish and having anxiety.
Former NYU research associate Nechama Kaiser filed her complaint in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday against the school and a psychiatry professor who supervised her. The supervisor, Naomi Simon, didn’t approve Kaiser’s time off for Jewish holidays and pressured her to change her “religiously significant” wedding date, the complaint says.
