Ex-Municipal Judge’s Bias Case Against Kansas Town Pared Back

A former municipal judge fell short when alleging that a small Kansas city violated constitutional guarantees of equal protection, dooming that portion of her disability discrimination suit.

The ex-judge’s equal protection claim against Garden City, Kan., and three of its officials fails because it’s a “class of one” claim, which isn’t allowed in the public employment context, the US District Court for the District of Kansas said Monday.
