Ex-Lockton Co-Owner Can’t Shed Trade Secrets, Contract Lawsuit

A former Lockton Cos.co-owner couldn’t escape a breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets lawsuit brought by the insurance brokerage firm.

Lockton sufficiently alleged that Sallie Giblin breached multiple contracts by soliciting two employees to join her at competitor Alliant Insurance Services and misappropriated trade secrets by taking home bags of items shortly before resigning, the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri said Mar. 31.

Giblin was a Lockton owner and producer member—someone who holds an ownership interest, owns one unit of the company, and makes a contribution—from 2006 to 2022, according to the order. ...
