Ex-GM Supervisor Mostly Advances Race, Age Discrimination Claims

A Black former General Motors LLC supervisor who says his boss favored White employees and, after firing him, replaced him with the boss’s fresh-out-of-college son can take most of his claims to trial.

The worker put forth enough evidence of pretext to get his race-based retaliation, race discrimination, and age discrimination claims in front of a jury, the US District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi said. However, the General Motors Co. subsidiary is entitled to summary judgment on his age-based retaliation allegations, the Tuesday order said.
