Ex-Gerresheimer Glass Worker Ends Covid Quarantine Firing Suit

A former employee of Gerresheimer Glass Inc. has settled a lawsuit stemming from her Covid-19-related quarantine and failed attempt to return to work after she recovered.

Torra Johnson alleged that she was denied mandatory paid sick leave when she tested positive for Covid in May 2020 and was fired in retaliation for staying home from work for three weeks pursuant to her doctor’s advice.

Judge Marvin E. Aspen of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed the case Thursday on the stipulation of the parties.

The stipulation says the parties have “independently settled their underlying dispute.” ...
