A former Ameriflight LLC pilot can pursue allegations that the company improperly required her to repay $20,000 in training costs because she resigned after less than a year on the job.
The pilot sufficiently alleged that the training program was primarily for the cargo flight company’s benefit and that she couldn’t transfer the certification to her new job, the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said. It’s too soon to tell if the repayment plan runs afoul of Texas law, according to the Tuesday opinion denying Ameriflight’s dismissal motion.
