ETA Should Improve Guidance It Gives Job Corps Contractors, GAO Report Says

The Labor Department’s Employment and Training Administration should improve the timeliness and sufficiency of guidance it provides contractors for ETA’s Job Corps program, so the communications deficiencies seen in program years 2011 and 2012 don’t recur, the Government Accountability Office concluded in a report issued Jan. 22.

“ETA’s current guidance for its internal notices may not be sufficient to ensure that [Job Corps contractors] receive information that is timely and of sufficient detail” for them to implement program changes, according to the report, titled “Job Corps: Assessment of Internal Guidance Could Improve Communications with Contractors.”
