Enterprise, EEOC Consent Decree in Age Bias Case Signed by Judge

The $1.8 million negotiated settlement in an age bias suit between Enterprise Leasing Co. of Florida LLC and the US was approved by a federal court.

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claimed that Enterprise violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act by under-hiring older candidates for management trainee jobs. Though it denied any wrongdoing, Enterprise agreed to the consent decree to avoid any further litigation costs and finally resolve the case. Judge Melissa Damian signed the decree Wednesday for the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
