The National Labor Relations Board wiped out a union’s election victory to represent workers at a Virginia-based employment service provider that places disabled individuals, ruling that the results of an earlier vote rejecting the union should have stood.
A divided three-member panel reversed a regional director’s ruling that Didlake Inc. tainted the first election by incorrectly telling workers they’d have to join the union and pay dues to keep their jobs if the union won. Those were mere misstatements of the law and didn’t merit holding a second vote, the NLRB panel said May 10.
