Employers to Share More Worker Injury Data Under OSHA Plan (1)

The Biden administration’s OSHA intends to reverse a Trump administration decision limiting the worker safety and health data employers must send to the federal government.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced a notice of proposed rulemaking Monday that, if enacted, would require employers with 100 or more workers in hazardous industries to file additional documents with the agency. The industries include food production, manufacturing, health care, retail, warehousing, transportation, and performing arts.

A similar requirement was first enacted by the Obama administration in 2016, then canceled by the Trump administration in 2019.
