Employers Reach H-1B Specialty Visa Cap for Fiscal Year 2025

US Citizenship and Immigration Services has received enough eligible H-1B registrations to meet the fiscal year 2025 cap for the specialty occupation visas, the agency announced Monday.

Employers with selected H-1B beneficiaries are eligible to move ahead with petitions for the visas beginning April 1. This year USCIS adopted a new lottery process for the 85,000 slots available under an annual statutory cap, basing selections on unique beneficiaries rather than total registrations submitted.

That shift was made in response to concerns that some employers attempted to game the system in previous cycles with duplicate submissions that didn’t represent legitimate positions. ...
