Election Petitions at NLRB Offices Hit Highest Rate Since 2016

Over 2,500 union representation petitions were filed with the National Labor Relations Board in fiscal year 2022, a 53% increase from the prior year, according to new data.

Unfair labor practice charges increased 19%, from FY 2021 to FY 2022 and total case intake at NLRB field offices increased 23%, the largest jump in a single year since FY 1976, the agency said Thursday.

The number of cases before the members of the NLRB has also increased by 13% over the last fiscal year, the agency said.
