Eighth Circuit Axes Engineer’s Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate Lawsuit

An appeals court panel dismissed a religious discrimination lawsuit against manufacturing giant 3M, ruling that the worker couldn’t prove he had been unlawfully discharged over his request for an exemption to its Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

Engineer Richard Goeke couldn’t have been unlawfully discriminated against when 3M Company denied his request to be excused from the Covid vaccine requirement because he had already retired and left the company, a panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit said Thursday.
