EEOC Will Meet on Revoking Biden-Era LGBTQ+ Harassment Guidance

Jan. 14, 2026, 9:12 PM UTC

The EEOC will discuss in an upcoming meeting rescinding anti-harassment guidance that includes protections for transgender employees.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Wednesday it will meet on Jan. 22 to consider the rescission of the guidance approved during the Biden administration that shields workers from misgendering and being forced to use facilities that do not align with their gender identity.

Part of the guidance was already vacated by a federal court.

Removing the guidance would follow through with a direct request from President Donald Trump in an executive order as part of the administration’s rollback of transgender protections.
