The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is closer to meeting its 2022 goal of adding hundreds of new staff with President Joe Biden signing a $1.5 trillion spending package to fund the government through September.
The bill gives the EEOC a $420 million budget, up from $404.5 million the previous year. The commission said it plans to use the extra cash to ramp up hiring with a goal of reaching close to 2,300 employees by the end of fiscal 2022, on Sept. 30. The last time the agency had that many employees was 2012.
