The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued United Pride Dairy LLC, a dairy farm in Phillips, Wis., alleging it subjected three employees of Mexican origin to discrimination and a female employee to sexual harassment.
United Pride Dairy promised three Mexican nationals professional or management positions when hired but assigned them laborer positions and more arduous tasks and shifts upon arrival, justifying the disparate treatment based on a negative stereotype about American-born workers as “lazy,” the EEOC said in announcing the suit Wednesday.
