The EEOC has filed a lawsuit against Silver Bay Seafood Restaurant Inc. in South Carolina for allegedly subjecting a female employee to a sexually hostile work environment, the agency said Monday.
Owners and managers of the Simpsonville restaurant didn’t take appropriate corrective action after a female employee reported that the male head server was sexually harassing her, which violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The male head server also allegedly had harassed a female employee before, the EEOC said.
