EEOC Sues SmartTalent for Sex-Based Discrimination Practices

SmartTalent, a staffing agency based in Gig Harbor, Wash., allegedly violated federal law by repeatedly refusing to assign female workers to certain temporary jobs, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged in a lawsuit filed in federal court, according to the agency Tuesday.

SmartTalent allegedly honored requests made by some business clients to fill positions with male workers only, conduct that would violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the EEOC said.
