A residential home service and repair company in Greensboro, N.C., reached a $50,000 settlement with EEOC to resolve accusations it fired two workers because they didn’t want to attend daily, employer-led Christian prayer meetings, according to the agency Wednesday.
Aurora Renovations and Developments LLC, doing business as Aurora Pro Services, allegedly required all employees to attend the meetings, which included Bible readings and Christian devotionals, the commission said.
When a construction manager requested to be excused from the prayer portion of the meetings to accommodate his religious beliefs, his pay was allegedly cut and he was later fired.
