EEOC, Pei Wei Resolve Sexual Harassment Case for $300,000

Pei Wei Asian Diner LLC will pay $300,000 and change its internal policies to settle an EEOC lawsuit alleging female employees at its Little Rock, Ark., restaurant were subjected to systemic sexual harassment, federal court records show.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued the company, which does business as Pei Wei Fresh Kitchen, in October, asserting quid pro quo and hostile work environment harassment claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Charging party Mashonna Lloyd, who was 17 at the time, and one other woman faced harassment so severe they were forced to quit, the lawsuit alleged. ...
