EEOC Opens Reporting Window for Employers to Send Workforce Data

Employers can submit their annual reports on the demographics of their workforce to the EEOC until June 24, the agency announced, although this year there will not be a nonbinary identification option.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission opened the 2024 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection Tuesday, a process that requires companies with at least 100 employees to disclose data on their workers’ sex, race, and ethnicity.

The annual collection is largely unchanged, but it removed the option for employers to categorize nonbinary workers, according to a copy of the booklet for the 2024 collection.
