EEOC, Oklahoma Driller Settle Employment Bias Suit for $650,000

Defunct oil and gas drilling contractor Horizontal Well Driller LLC will pay the EEOC and a former employee $650,000 to resolve claims it engaged in disability and age discrimination and illegally inquired into workers’ family health histories, the agency said Wednesday.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s 2017 suit accused HWD of requiring oil rig hand Wilbert Glover to submit to a post-hire medical examination and then terminating him based on health information it learned through the exam.
