EEOC Must Keep Collecting Pay Data, Despite Requests to Stop (1)

The EEOC must continue to collect pay data from employers with 100 or more workers, a federal judge in the District of Columbia ruled Oct. 29, denying the agency’s request to deem the collection complete.

The agency requested the pay data collection be deemed complete Oct. 8 after more than 72.7% of employers turned over the wage-and-hour data, broken down by race, sex, and ethnicity. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission determined 72.7% was an adequate percentage of employers, based on past numbers of filers that had submitted by the specified deadline.
