EEOC Condemns Antisemitism Citing Rise in Crimes and Violence

The EEOC denounced antisemitism in an unanimously-approved resolution on Thursday following a nationwide increase in attacks on Jewish-owned businesses and houses of worship and an earlier statement by President Joe Biden.

“Hatred, bigotry, and antisemitism violate our nation’s core principles and impact all of us,” said Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Charlotte Burrows. The EEOC is a workplace civil rights agency that enforces federal anti-discrimination laws.

Biden called the attacks on Jews in light of recent conflicts between Israel and the militant group Hamas “despicable” in a May 24 tweet.
