EEOC Chair Yang Sees Continuity in Agency’s Goals

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the past two years has strengthened its program of developing high-impact bias cases, advanced the rights of LGBT workers under federal law and made it easier for workers and employers to interact with the agency, EEOC Chair Jenny Yang (D) said Dec. 6.

Yang’s tenure as the agency’s leader since 2014 likely will end sometime in January after President-elect Donald J. Trump is inaugurated and designates a Republican as the new EEOC chair.

But Yang said a number of agency initiatives she promoted as chair should survive the change in administrations.
