An Arkansas-based furniture store unlawfully denied a Christian assistant manager’s request for an exemption from a mandatory Covid-19 vaccination policy and then fired her, according to a new EEOC lawsuit announced Tuesday.
A supervisor at a Frank’s Furniture Inc. location in Pensacola, Fla., told the worker in 2021 that the retailer would demote her if she refused to comply with the policy, “no matter the reason,” the agency alleged in a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
