Private companies will have to turn in 2019 and 2020 workforce demographic data to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission beginning in April, according to an agency announcement.
The EEOC in May 2020 delayed collecting the workforce data, broken down by race, sex, ethnicity, and job group, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Overwhelmed employers were grateful for the deferment at the time. The agency uses the data for enforcement and research, and employers can use the data for self-assessment.
