Edward Jones Defeats Latino Financial Adviser’s Retaliation Suit

A Latino former Edward Jones Investments financial adviser’s delay in reporting the loss of his job bias lawsuit against the firm and unprofessional conduct provided legitimate reasons to fire him that he failed to show were a cover for retaliation, the Western District of Texas ruled.

Edward Jones policy required Emilio Lira to report the adverse March 2019 judgment to the firm, which taxed the costs of the suit against him, by the end of the next business day, the court said.
