Edward Jones Can’t Nix Financial Advisers’ Sex, Race Bias Suit

A pansexual woman and a Mexican American man can continue with their class lawsuit alleging Edward D. Jones & Co. favors White male financial advisers over “diverse” advisers.

Katie Dixon and Jaime Gaona’s March 2022 class complaint adequately alleges claims of sex discrimination under the Equal Pay Act, race discrimination under 42 U.S.C. §1981, and disparate impact and disparate treatment bias under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said. It denied a motion by Edward Jones and the Jones Financial Corp. to dismiss the case.
