The White House is reviewing an updated fee rule for investor visas from US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The EB-5 visa program offers immigrants a path to permanent residency when they invest a required amount in businesses that create US jobs. Most investments in the program are made through regional centers, which allow visa seekers to pool funds in large enterprises.
A 2022 reauthorization of the regional center program raised investment thresholds to $1.05 million or $800,000 in targeted low-income areas. Benefit application fees for the EB-5 users also increased as part of USCIS regulations finalized last year.
