Dykema Accused of Discriminating Against Black Tech Employee

Dykema Gossett PLLC staff subjected a Black employee to racial discrimination, including a comment about “breathing” days after the police killing of George Floyd, a lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Michigan alleges.

The law firm violated federal and state civil rights law in its treatment of Heather Taylor-Livas, a technical support specialist in its Lansing, Mich., office from 2016 to 2020, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
