DoorDash to Raise Seattle Delivery Fees in Response to Pay Rule

DoorDash Inc. says it will apply an additional $1.99 fee to certain long-distance delivery orders in Seattle to offset a new minimum-pay ordinance that the company says has caused it to lose money in that market.

  • The company made the announcement in a post on its website
  • The new fee, which will be applied starting August 1, is on top of a $4.99 fee DoorDash introduced in January when the city’s ordinance first went into effect
    • The fee “will help to offset the costs of some of the most expensive deliveries under the minimum pay ordinance,” the company says
