Domino’s Pizza Franchisee Settles Immigration Claim With DOJ

The Department of Justice reached a settlement with a Maryland-based operator of several Domino’s Pizza stores over alleged immigration-related violations, DOJ announced Thursday.

The agency found that Treacy Enterprises discriminated against a lawful permanent resident by requiring them to prove their status by providing a green card. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, employers can’t demand additional documentation to prove work eligibility beyond what is required by federal law.

The INA allows workers to choose which qualifying documents they present to prove their identity and work eligibility; employers can’t ask for more documents than necessary.
