Domino’s Gets Truck Driver’s Overtime Claims Sent to Arbitration

Domino’s Pizza LLC can make a supply truck driver arbitrate his overtime allegations because the worker signed a valid agreement to do so, a federal judge said.

The driver is exempt from federal arbitration law, but the parties’ valid pact also invokes state law, which requires him to take his claims to private dispute resolution, the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said. However, the Tuesday opinion rejected the pizza chain’s call to sanction the worker’s lawyer for seeking to avoid arbitration.
