Dollar Tree to Pay $50,000 to Settle EEOC Disability Bias Suit

Dollar Tree Distribution will pay $50,000 to a job applicant with a hearing impairment to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit after the chain allegedly refused to hire the applicant for a general warehouse associate position at its Ridgefield, Wash., facility in June 2019, the EEOC said on Wednesday.

Dollar Tree Distribution instead hired less qualified applicants without hearing impairments, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s press statement.
