DOL Unemployment Adviser Michele Evermore to Depart in October

The US Department of Labor is looking for a new policy expert to help lead its unemployment insurance modernization office.

Michele Evermore, who has been working on jobless aid issues there since February 2021, will depart the agency in October, a DOL spokesperson said.

Evermore took on an inaugural role as the deputy director for policy at the DOL’s office of unemployment insurance modernization, which was created in August 2021 to help shore up the jobless safety net after delays, fraud, and deficiencies in the federal-state system were uncovered during the pandemic.
