The Trump administration plans to completely shutter the US Labor Department’s contractor watchdog, reassigning its anti-discrimination enforcement for veterans and disabled workers to other agencies including the EEOC.
The DOL’s fiscal year 2026 budget justification released Friday would eliminate the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and transfer its duties under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The OFCCP’s enforcement of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act would go to the DOL’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service.
