DOL Readies Extended Delay of Trump’s Pro-Restaurant Tip Rule

The U.S. Labor Department will release soon a rule to further delay and potentially withdraw part of a Trump administration regulation that would’ve let businesses pay tipped workers a lower minimum wage for time spent on tasks that don’t generate tips.

DOL’s Wage and Hour Division sent the final rule to the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs for review, the final step before a regulation can be published, according to an online notice Friday.
