DOL Proposes Update to FECA Regulations

The Labor Department’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs is proposing changes to its regulations on claims under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act, according to a notice scheduled to be published in the Aug. 23 Federal Register (75 Fed. Reg. 49596, 8/13/10).

According to the proposed rule, FECA provides compensation for lost wages, medical care, and vocational rehabilitation to federal employees injured in the performance of their duties, as well as benefits to the survivors of federal employees killed in the performance of or as a result of their duties.
