DOL Gets $1.15 Million from RV Producer For Overtime Violations

Nov. 22, 2022, 2:16 PM UTC

The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has recovered $1,158,536 in back wages from overtime for 710 workers at Alliance RV LLC in Elkhart, Ind.

Investigators found the employer miscalculated overtime on a piece-rate basis. Alliance allegedly payed less overtime for each piece in weeks when workers put in more than 40 hours, which violates the Fair Labor Standards Act, the DOL said Monday.

The department said Alliance RV pays these piece-rates to assembly-line employees to produce recreational travel haulers, towable trailers, and 5th wheel campers.
